Is the Undercover Series in jeopardy?
If you’ve been playing the home game, you may have noticed that 2015 is nearly over yet I haven’t had much to say about the fifth book in the Undercover Series, LOVE ONLY SLEEPS. And there’s a really good reason for that. I don’t have anything to say.
Let me back up. When I released LOVE LIES BLEEDING, I had every intention of diving into the next book in the series as soon as I got a few minor projects out of the way. Even this year, I had the bulk of the story’s twists and turns in my head, ready to hit the page. As of this moment, I haven’t so much as typed out the prologue I know by heart in my head. Why?
I’ve been grieving for two years and I’m still too sad.
My Rookie Mistake
Happy New Year, y’all!!!!!
So, I know I’m about 13 days late with that, but I’ve had the plague since Christmas and I’m suffering from a weird reaction to today’s B-12 shot. We’ll just pretend that the last 13 days of New Year’s posts haven’t already been filling up the Internet. Okay?
Anyway. I’m not here to publicly announce my New Year’s Resolutions or anything. I mean, being sick has already forced me to push back some of the stuff I wanted to accomplish this year anyway, so…why admit defeat to all three people who read this blog?
Instead, I’m here to give you the quick rundown on some of the awesomeness that’s coming your way if I ever recover from the plague and manage to spend more than a six hours each day awake, coherent and upright.
I know I mentioned some of these in a post last year, but now that I’ve tweaked the 2015 publication schedule a bit, I just wanted to recommit to:
When you’re an author, you get used to looking at time a little differently than everyone else. When I’m writing a conversation between characters, only a few minutes may pass in the scene while a half hour passes in real time. And since I’ve been writing a ton of words lately, I seem to spend an increasing amount of time in character time instead of real time.
Basically, I’m telling you that the more I write, the less I notice the passage of time in the real world. I’ve got all sorts of stuff going on and yet I haven’t told y’all about any of it in over a month. So, let’s get to the fun updates, shall we?
It’s a fair question, y’all. I think I’ll answer.
Sadly, Love Lies Bleeding is still sitting on my hard drive, in need of another 130 manuscript pages or so of final revisions. It’s been a slow go for a number of reasons, here’s a few of them:
This one seems kind of random, doesn’t it? I know I’ve been talking a lot about writing during the A-Z Blogging Challenge this month, but it was never my intention to turn into one of those writers who thinks they must write about writing just because they write.
So, today we talk about nutrition.
I know what you’re thinking. You’ve probably assumed I’m one of those low-calorie always on a diet type of people. Yes and no. I’m on a special diet, but it’s not because I’m on that neverending quest to lose 10 vanity pounds.
I’m just fond of not dying.
